Great suction power!

I love the hands free option.
It is so powerful it actually blew some leaves off the deck outside. The noise level is OK.

8' ceiling is a problem

As others have noted, installing this hood under an 8' ceiling is a problem. I opted to use just one of the duct covers. First I drilled holes through the top plate and the supporting 2x4s in the attic to take 4 long bolts. Then I attached the flexible duct to the fan assembly. I attached the top plate to the "angle irons" and then to the fan & hood assembly on the counter top. I then slid the duct cover over from the top. Using the cardboard box it came in and bits of lumber I elevated the hood until the top plate was in position snug on the ceiling. Now the hard part: I crawled into the attic and working through the duct hole, jiggled the top plate around until I could slide the bolts from the bottom through the top plate and 2x4s, and then I installed washers and nuts. Tightening the nuts cinched the assembly nice and firmly to the ceiling.

I think I could have come up with a better design to make installation a lot less challenging. For one, everything is assembled with frustrating tiny little nuts and bolts. Bring your good glasses!

5/17/2024 update: I was contacted by Iktch and they generously resolved the issues I had to my satisfaction. Now that the hood is installed we are very pleased with the looks, performance, and the quality of the product. Updated 3 stars to 5 stars.

Easy to install, cost-effective

It suits my family in every way. Features, Price, simple installation.

Nice Modern-Looking Hood That Works

Looks good and good value. The installer said he had seen this brand installed in commercial settings. Works fine, definitely a lot better than downdraft vent we used to have.

Quality

The quality is really good and the four-speed engine is phenomenal, I definitely recommend it.

Handsome grill hood vent

We installed this 36" 900 cfm vent for our outdoor grill to help remove smoke on our lanai. We used angle irons as a support system to hang this wall mount hood vent. It's sturdy, no rattling and has a good draft. Somewhat noisy at highest level but favorable to fire alarms in house. All in all we love the vent hood, the hand operations are easy and lights are bright for night time use.

Works great. Looks beautiful if you install it correctly.

This vent should be fully integrated into your cabinet and not visible from outside. Otherwise there is no point of buying one in this style. I don't understand why so many people built a really ugly case outside it and make it a standalone statement piece....

Function wise it is great. The gesture thing is more of a gimmick but could be useful from time to time. Suction power is great.

Excellent Exhaust Fan

Excellent quality! Well built, sturdy, great work man ship. Easy to install.

Easy installation, excellent quality

Very happy with features, power, noise level and aesthetic. I originally purchased because it indicated that this unit could be ventless. My contractor told me that it would not work well with the ventless setup, so be cautioned if you are purchasing for a ventless setup.

Vent a hood excellent choice!

Highly recommended! Very satisfied

Instructions?

No doubt about it, this is a quality product! It's packed very well, and the protective film that coats all of the stainless steel finishes is about the most thorough (and tenacious) I've ever seen. I'm in the process of installing this now in a weekend house, and will end up building an enclosure for the exhaust rather than using the supplied chimneys. This is because my new stove placement did not line up with the original vent hood location by about 3 inches, and the chimney was not wide enough to cover it all. (see photo) Also, clearance between top of range hood and existing duct location is really tight in my particular installation.

The instructions are very vague at best, and the anchors supplied made me think, "no way!" I ended up lucky enough to locate two studs within the overall width of the hood, and drilled/saber sawed my own keyhole slots in the back of the range hood itself. (see photo) My slots are toward the bottom, so I also made some clamps as well to hold the top of the hood onto the wall. (see photo) I'll never worry about it falling off the wall for sure.
So it's mounted to the wall now, and I'm really happy with it. It really puts out a breeze! I have not become used to the hand motion necessary to consistently get it to increase or decrease fan speed, but that will come. The light is just right. Quiet for the amount of power it has.
Will update with photos when I get the enclosure completed.
Edit: 2 photos added of custom chimney. I made it no bigger than it had to be to do the job. Still have some trim work to do along the walls and on top where it meets the ceiling beam.

Noisy and not enough power

900 CFM is questionable. Also noisy at level-1, very noisy at level-4. My previous 600CFM hood was more powerful than this one.
Looks good, very contemporary. Will see how long it will survive.

Great lighting

Always check the cfm rate. This unit was highest. Very sturdy. Well engineered and works very well. The only thing is the stainless steel stack. It is made of two pieces, and my two pieces were obviously made from two different mill runs. The lower piece is a dull gray, while the upper piece is shiny stainless steel. Not seller or manufacturers fault, just a different mill run.

Worth its cost and function, with a few quirks.

I bought this mainly for its noise raiting. I don't have a decibelmeter, but am fairly sure it is louder than it is rated at.

Pros:
It works well. My kids love the remote. My wife adores it, she likes the hand motion sensor.

Quirks:
* The protective coating that this ships with is extremely difficult to remove, and time consuming.
* It has sensors to turn on or off via a hand wave--it often turns itself on when I am standing in front of the stove and moving left to right without my intending to turn it on.
* The stainless steel surface seems to collect fingerprints. It would be good to clean after removing the film with some kind of cleaner/degreaser perhaps?
* timer only has fixed 9 min, 6 min, 3 min, 1 min.
* Mounting brackets aren't at a standard stud witdth apart. If you have the option of putting in a plywood blocking behind the drywall, do it. I ended up drilling holes and adding my own brackets to get it to attach to studs for a firmer/sturdier mounting.

We've had it for some 6 months plus, we love having it. Overall worth the purchase. I've physically modified the metal cover for the chimney to fit a very shallow sloped ceiling.

Appearance is very nice.

Install was a bit difficult due to the directions not real accurate and didn’t specify what screws went where. Trial and error got the job done. Install went as planned. The hardest thing was removing the protective sheet on the stainless.
Just moving around near the hood cleaning kept turning it on and adjusting the fan speeds just from moving left or right with my head. So I guess if you cooking you better not move or you will keep adjusting the speeds. lol. Overall I think this will work just fine. Will update when I actually get to try it out.

Exhaust is a little noisy, but we love the look.

The main issue for me is that the unit does not have a clock, use to looking at that spot for a clock where the previous microwave/exhaust was located. The hand wave function will not respond at times, have to manually operate, but pleasingly surprised that the package did accommodate our 10 foot ceiling.

Great hood vent

I’m using this vent as a small paint booth in my garage with another large fan down the run to evacuate for my garage to outside. Works incredibly well. Love it.

Powerful range hood with great features

I just had this installed today but a very powerful motor. I really like the timer for the fan to turn off, the no touch hand waving functionality to change fan speeds along with the sleek look of the range hood in our kitchen. I would highly recommend.
